Bushcraft knives are manufactured keeping traditional Bushmen’s wilderness survival skills in mind. The BushcraftUK.com website, along with Bushcrafts design expert, Chris Claycombe and designers from Spyderco worked together to produce the Spyderco Bushcraft G-10 survival knife.
They used 0-1 high carbon content tool steel to give the knife a sharper stronger blade. One Spyderco Bushcraft Knife reviewer states that this knife is an overall excellent product.
The Bushcraft G-10 knife is a high quality knife used for dressing out game, for wacking, chopping, slicing and cutting down brush in the wilderness. Manufactured in Taiwan, a province of China, it is specifically designed for wilderness survival skills that traditional Bushmen used to survive in the bush in various regions of Africa.
Its 0-1 high carbon content steel blade has a single bevel Scandinavian grind that is both wide and flat. It is known for holding a sharp edge even during heavy use. With a knife blade length of 4 inches, a cutting edge of 3.9 inches and overall length of 8.75 inches, it is fully tanged.
Included with the knife is a black leather carry sheath that is designed for those who are right-handed. With an attractive design imprinted in the leather, the sheath looks sharp and holds up well in all kinds of weather.
With a beautiful polished finish, the contoured black G-10 material used during the manufacturing process makes the handle feel and look much like wood. Overall, it’s a rugged looking knife that fits the hand well, with a lanyard hole in the handle and a back up lanyard hole in the blade.
This fixed blade model has a closed length of 4.13 inches that fits nicely into the leather sheath. The ratings from 16 different owners show that 14 gave the knife a 5 star rating, one gave it a 4 star rating and the other gave it a 3 star rating. Priced accordingly for its great performance and quality, the Spyderco Bushcraft G-10 knife ranges from $159.94 up to $184.99 depending on where it is purchased.
Following are customer reviews about the Bushcraft G-10 fixed blade knife: One owner said that this survival knife is easy to sharpen because the Scandinavian grind is very true and flat.
